Our beach cottage rests among the tall trees with a peaceful view for a deeply relaxing experience with two outside decks and an interior porch. Your family can spread out or be together - especially with our large dining tables both inside and outside. There is a gentle breeze and fans, and a fieldstone fireplace. You don’t have to worry about linens and making beds, before you arrive the beds will be made and beach towels will be ready to go so you can start to relax upon arrival. Point Of Woods has a large white sand beach with a boardwalk adjacent to a nature preserve with additional beaches all just a short walk away.
Our cottage was built on the high point of Point O’ Woods in the 1930’s. We've created a comfortable, relaxing space, with updated kitchen and bath while maintaining a simple cottage feeling. The kitchen is well equipped and beach gear is available - chairs, umbrellas, floats, sunscreen, toys. There are two hammocks in our shady back yard, a picnic table, a large table and chairs on TWO outdoor decks, an outdoor shower, and Weber gas grill.
Point O' Woods is an ideal place for families. Two tennis courts, pickle ball court, a modern playground, basketball court, pavilion, boat launch, scenic overlooks, wooded trails, organized beach blanket bingo and movies on the beach organized by the beach association twice a week. The ice-cream truck parks at the beach all day or take a short walk, to the market with Ashley's Ice Cream.
If you plan to visit colleges, we are only 20-minute drive to Amtrak station in Old Saybrook. Yale, Wesleyan, Trinity, Brown, Connecticut College, Providence College are all 30 minutes to an hour away.
