PET POLICY
We will accept a well-behaved canine member of the family. However, the dog must be over one year old, not be aggressive towards people or other pets, be house trained, does not get up on the furniture, and is ok with being left alone when you are away from the cottage (no incessant barking or destructive behavior). We require that you will be a responsible pet owner when the dog is outside, that your dog is always kept on a leash, is up-to-date on flea and heart worm treatment and...most importantly...that there will be no signs that your pet was in the property when you depart. You must be responsible for any damage and/or extra cleaning caused by your dog.
Cottage
Like most Melrose cottages, the property is a duplex unit. It is designed in a way to ensure complete soundproofing and privacy.
Concerned about the logistics of coming to a bridge-less island? No need to worry! Guests receive information and assistance from the DRG team, all of whom live on the island and who are available 24/7 for any problems. Team members strive to create a stress-free and enjoyable adventure for their visitors, and to ensure that their Daufuskie experience creates lasting and once-in-a-lifetime memories.

THE COTTAGE
The Sea's the Day Cottage, located on Daufuskie Island, has beautiful views from all sides. From your front porch, you can catch a glimpse of the ocean. From your back porch, you share a lovely and huge backyard backing up to a marsh.
And the location really can't be beat! You are within a two minute walk to the beach.
This cottage has everything you will need for an enjoyable vacation experience. When you first enter the cottage, you are greeted by an open floor plan with a comfortable living room, dining area, and adjoining kitchen.
The two spacious bedrooms are each comfortably furnished with two queen-sized beds in one bedroom and a king in the second bedroom; TVs, and private bathrooms.
And you will want to check out your back porch overlooking a backyard with occasional wildlife. There is not a better place to relax and enjoy the end of the day: Pina Coladas, anyone?

Although the Melrose Resort is closed, but the equestrian center is back in operation, and horseback riding on the beach is available.
