Original 1940's Broadkill Beach Cottage, third back from the water, and fully remodeled in July 2022. The home maintains all of its original charm while providing all of the modern conveniences. The location can't be beat, you will be a short walk to the bay and sandy beach and only a short drive to local restaurants, shopping, and recreation.
As you approach the house you will see the firepit surrounded by comfortable seating in the stone patio. It is a great spot to build a fire and toast marshmallows in the evening or enjoy the morning breeze and sounds of the waves. Enter in through the screened in porch and be tempted to sit in the oversized wicker chairs under the ceiling fan and listen to the waves. Proceeding through the front door you enter the Great Room which will please all of your family members. There are many comfortable seating options including a leather sleeper sofa, table with 4 chairs, bench that opens to reveal the board game stash. Two lighted ceiling fans will help keep you comfortable. You will also find a coffee table that doubles as a Foosball table and a wall mounted smart TV. The granite breakfast bar with seating for 4 divides the great room and kitchen and is great place to grab a quick meal or play a game. Step into the kitchen that is fully outfitted with granite counters and stainless appliances. The full size fridge features a water dispenser and ice maker. For quick meals there is a microwave hood above the range. Open the cabinets and find everything you need to prepare a meal that a chef would approve of and a dishwasher to help with the clean up when you are done.
The bathroom is small but does not lack any features. You will find the original medicine cabinet and sink with new toilet and walk in shower. The laundry room has a stacked washer and dryer and a closet with basic supplies. You can exit to the fully fenced back yard, which your pets will enjoy. There is also an outdoor shower with hot and cold water, perfect for when you return from the beach.
When you are tired from all of the days adventures we have a number of sleeping options. There is a spacious master suite complete with king bed, sofa, TV, ceiling fan, and 2 Closets. The younger members of the group will enjoy the bunk room. This room can be entered through the great room or the master bedroom. There is a trundle bunk bed, so 3 people can sleep comfortably. There are 3 lockers for clothes storage, a smart TV on the wall, ceiling fan, and original hardwood floors. The third bedroom has a Queen bed, original hardwood floors, smart TV, ceiling fan, and views of the sunrise. For additional sleeping options there is a pull out queen sofa in the great room.
PLEASE NOTE--linens and towels are not provided. You must bring your own or there are several rental companies that service the area.
The house is equipped with beach chairs and a collapsible wagon to help you transport all of your gear. There is a selection of beach toys for the young and young of heart.
Well behaved dogs under 75 pounds are welcome, maximum of 2, with payment of pet fee. Please make sure to select traveling with pets.
